IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)
IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is an architectural framework for offering multimedia and voice over IP services. IMS is access independent as it supports multiple access types including GSM, WCDMA, CDMA2000, WLAN, WiMAX, LTE, Wireline broadband and future access technologies. IMS will make Internet technologies, such as web browsing, e-mail, instant messaging and video conferencing available to everyone from any location on any device.
IMS consists of session control, connection control and an applications services framework along with subscriber and services data layered over the service provider’s current network infrastructure. It enables new converged voice and data services, while allowing for the interoperability of these converged services between internet and cellular subscribers using open standard IP protocols. Users will be able to execute all their services when roaming as well as from their home networks.
CommVerge Solutions' technical personnel, design and implementation teams are well versed in deploying IMS technologies. We have proven track records across the APAC region deploying and implementing carrier grade networks providing Service Providers with exponential benefits in terms of cost, quality and reliability.
Vision:
| |
| · IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is a set of specifications that describes the Next Generation Networking (NGN) architecture for implementing IP based telephony and multimedia services. |
| · Provides cellular access to subscribers for multimedia contents that experience the same services from the fixed broadband “last mile”. |
| · Ability to make use of cellular phone to surf the web, play on line games, join video conferencing session just like using the DSL or cable. |
Benefits:
| |
| · Enable Service Providers to have a common platform to reduce the time to rollout for new multimedia services. |
| · Enable Service Providers to charge the multimedia services appropriately. |
| · Enable Service Providers to ensure QoS for its multimedia services. |
| · Ensure availability for multimedia services regardless the location of the subscribers. |
