Quick Fixes To Improve Your Home

There are many little things you can do to improve the condition of your home, and they don’t have to cost a lot either! Take a look at our blog to see some quick and easy ways to improve your home.

Creaky doors

This might not seem like the most important thing to do, but creaky doors can get annoying after a while. Especially when you are nodding off to sleep and you are suddenly woken by the creaking of the bathroom door. Just spray a little bit of WD40 on the hinges and this should fix this problem.

Peeling wallpaper

Peeling wallpaper can make your house look untidy but it can be easily fixed. Just get a knife and smear a bit of wallpaper paste onto a piece of paper. Then rub the paper against the underside of the peeling section, press the wallpaper against the wall and slide the paper out and smooth away any bubbles with a cloth.

Stained bath

If your bath has a stain you can easily remove it by combining equal amounts of baking soda and cream of tartar with some lemon juice, so it is thick enough to make a paste. Then rub the paste onto the stain with your fingers or use a soft cloth. Let the mixture sit for around half an hour then rinse with water.

Bad flooring

Reinventing your flooring can transform your home. Sometimes a lick of paint or varnish can really improve the look of your flooring. If your carpet is looking a bit scruffy you can use carpet cleaning solution or a stain removal product.

Outdoors

We all know that maintaining your garden can be hard work, but just making sure the lawn is trimmed can improve the look of your home. Putting in some fresh plants and flowers will bring your garden to life. Don’t be afraid to paint the outside of your home as well as sometimes colour can fade and look grotty.

Clutter

One of the easiest and cheapest ways to improve your home is to get rid of all that clutter which has been building up over a number of years. Do one room at a time, and you will be so surprised what you find. Also, don’t be afraid to chuck things away. You know what they say, tidy house, tidy mind!
