To become a class 1 police officer in India, you need to clear the IPS (Indian Police Services) exam which is held by Union public service commission (UPSC) every year. It is a very competitive exam with more than 100000+ candidates taking the exam out of which under 200 are finally selected.
Education qualification
· Candidate must have completed Graduation in any stream.
· A candidate who is in last year of Graduation is also eligible.
· Candidate’s degree can be from any UGC approved University or any State University.
Age Limit
· Age must be between 21 to 32 for the General category.
· Candidates of SC/ST and OBC will get extra age 5 and 3 years respectively.
